The Paddington Rabbits' aim is to provide a friendly home for cricketers old and new. To prove that it's never too early or too late in life to pick up a bat and ball for the first time. To support and entertain any misfit cricketers who may feel locked out of the game at loftier levels. We want the only boundaries to a game of cricket to be on the pitch.
Being a Rabbit in 2025
• Paddington Rabbits do not operate a membership scheme or charge fees for joining. Nets sessions will always be free to join (these will be on Thursday nights during the season) we want cricket to be as accessible to everyone as possible
• For 2025 match fees will remain at £10 per player for those that can afford it. If you are unwaged or struggling, please speak to us we will always sort you out.
• Obviously, this is no way covers costs and is no way to run a sports club. We are always broke and rely on Rabbits’ generous contributions to stay in existence. The cost of nets, balls, insurance, pitch-hire (pretty much everything tbh) has gone up again this year, so if you can, please give where you can, it’s really appreciated.
• Paddington Rabbits don’t own their own ground (surprise!) and rent the facilities from Everyone Active (the gym people). In their infinite wisdom, they are demanding monthly payment upfront from us (or the season could be cancelled). We’re going to fight this (it’s crazy) but will also probably have to pay to keep the lights on, so there’s going to be quite a lot of pestering people for contributions all year. Apologies!
• If you are a secret wealthy donor, or just have a few quid to help out, our first fundraising pot is here: https://app.collectionpot.com/pot/3333933 Please give what you can!
• We don’t have a strict dress code – try to wear white on a weekend game; try to wear blue for T20. If you are completely gear-less, speak to us and we will try to sort you out.
That said, if you do want to buy official Paddington Rabbits match-wear we have an incredible shop full of great quality, customisable kit. Please buy direct from here:
https://www.serioussport.co.uk/teamstores/paddington-rabbits
Every sale supports the club (and will make you look extra hot).
• We also have a fan shop selling t-shirts, hats, towels, pretty much anything you can think of here:

Order now before Adidas and Taylor Swift get mad at us again.
• IMPORTANT – Paddington Rabbits aren’t pro enough to have an inclusion and diversity officer (we haven’t even got a proper dressing room) and 99% of the time this doesn’t need saying, but we are a proudly pro-weirdo, anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-homophobic, anti-discrimination club. Teasing based on dropped catches, lateness and terrible music taste is, of course, absolutely fine, but any discrimination against, or creep-behaviour towards a team-member or opposition player because of their race, sex, gender identification, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, disability or age is completely unacceptable. Basically: don’t be a dickhead, and definitely no nazis.
• That’s pretty much it. Go well and have a great season.
Founded by esteemed music producer (and sometime Nepalese cricket commentator) Paul of Sound as London's first rock 'n' roll cricket club, the Rabbits have played host to some of the biggest names from the capital's underground music scene, and touring guests from overseas, but always welcome non-musical players of all ages, gender and abilities. We skew a little ‘arty’ but we don’t mind who you are, what you do, or where you come from. Come over and say ‘hi’ at the Rec we’ll be the weirdos in lane four arguing about music.
We were recently visited by the good people at Dome magazine who do a much better job of explaining what we’re all about than we ever could.
What YOU NEED TO KNOW
Paddington Rabbits play at the Paddington Recreation Ground in Maida Vale, London.
With a long sporting pedigree, the Rec. was the training ground for Sir Roger Bannister's four-minute-mile
And it's where Sir Bradley Wiggins first learned to ride a bike. (Should we still be boasting about that?)
Winter Nets are now open. We practice on Thursdays from 2pm - 5pm. New players are always welcome and no previous experience or equipment is necessary. We have matches most weekends from April - October.
Practice is free. but without donations we don’t exist. If you can give a little please do.
